About Us

As a public charter school, CRA provides a public educational choice for parents with students in Kindergarten through 8th grade who choose to have their children educated in an innovative learning environment.

While the Capistrano Unified School District has general oversight of CRA’s activities, our school is governed by our own board of trustees.

About Us

Principles That Guide Our School

Underpinning CRA are five guiding principles:

  • CRA strives to create a model learning community where faculty and staff participate in an extensive professional development program and also partner with colleagues to foster a challenging academic environment for all. Highly qualified and motivated teachers collaborate in decision-making and develop curriculum while guiding, supporting and evaluating students.
  • CRA’s project-based curriculum involves students in complex real-world projects through which they develop and apply skills and knowledge.
  • Great value is placed on the mastery of fundamental academic skills, problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration, initiative, effective communications, adaptability, evaluating information and imagination.
  • A community partnership is integral to effective education because strong communities foster positive development in students.
  • CRA curriculum, policies and practices are designed to promote environmental awareness and stewardship.
